Each rep/senator has at least two offices: your state + DC. You can call both numbers every day. When you call there’s usually a recording and short phone tree to navigate through. Sometimes you might be immediately connected to a person or voicemail. (You can also email and fax your reps every day!)
<aside> 🔊 A LIL PEP TALK! It’s normal to feel nervous and disempowered–our political system is designed to make us feel that way. It’s okay if you stutter, stumble, fumble. The people answering these calls are just normal people! Call often and repeatedly. June Jordan said “I must become a menace to my enemies.” You’ve got this.

At the end of the day, call topics are tallied and reported to their respective reps. Individual comments are less likely to be passed along, so it’s okay to keep your call brief.
